I can’t write an objective restaurant review on the Federal Bar in North Hollywood. It’s not the Federal Bar’s fault, but my own. I arrived late to the New Years Eve prix fixed menu press tasting.
Though the food was all gone, the wine was not. Georgos Wine saved the night. Georgos Wine always does. The two generous pours in particular were the Mykonos, a Greek Style Pinot Noir, and the Ios, a dry Rose. I don’t know why it’s still taboo for table wine in America to be good, but Georgos is changing that.
I can only imagine what I would have ordered from the four course menu: the crab hot pot as an appetizer, baby beet and burrata as the salad, wild salmon for the entrée, and finally the brioche bread pudding. Though the party ended, the service was still impeccable.
