Noodle Star is a hidden gem and a symbol for what a healthy and modern Asian eatery should strive to be. It is conveniently located in Sherman Oaks and in close proximity to Ventura Boulevard and located in the same space as the families former Thai bistro, Lannathai that has been in the family since 1977. Today the restaurant is owned and operated by The Mekpongsatorn brothers, Bo & Ben who are continuing the family tradition of bringing a quality affordable Asian dining experience to the San Fernando Valley. No matter what type of Asian cuisine you fancy Noodle Star has an Asian dish and delight for everyone.
The space has a contemporary atmosphere with a full bar and large format media center that makes the venue a perfect happy hour destination with plenty of comfortable seating and a menu to match. Noodle Star is the perfect place to go if you are feeling indecisive about where to eat and you can’t decide between Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese or any other Asian cuisine that you may be craving.
We have done our best to highlight some of our favorite menu selections. If Thai is your fancy, we suggest the Spicy Chicken Wings and the Spring Rolls as starters and the Mint leaf Chicken with Fried Egg and the Pad See Ew noodles.
Feeling like something Chinese, look no further that the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and BBQ Pork Wonton Soup with egg noodles.
In a Japanese mood?, Order the Pork Miso Ramen for something decadent and savory and if Vietnamese is your pleasure, besides the amazing selection of PHO, opt for the Pork Chop Noodles with egg rolls and Rice.
If you are feeling somewhat adventurous but still want to remain in your comfort zone the unique wild card is The Spicy Seafood Spaghetti; a grown up version of a childhood favorite adapted from the kids menu that is any adults guilty pleasure.
A full bar offers guests plenty of virgin and alcoholic drinks including the signature Thai Iced Tea & coffee and their own version of a Long Island Iced Tea has been dubbed the “Wrong Island Iced Tea” after an ongoing inside joke from many years ago. If Beer is your thing you have to try a Lucky Buddha Lager brewed with rice, malted barley and Czech Saaz hops served in a Buddah shaped jade bottle. There is no guarantee that you will get a lucky streak but the odds are in your favor.
The sweetest surprise and the best meal closer is by far the Mango Sticky Rice. A light and flavorful dish of freshly sliced mango, warm sticky rice and cold condensed milk all mix together on the plate to create the perfect contrast of hot, cold and sweet.
