Electric Sky Wine makes its LA Debut at WOLF on Melrose



We were graciously invited to attend a unique private tastemaker experience last week at Wolf Dining LA on Melrose to celebrate the Los Angeles Launch of “Electric Sky Wine-a groundbreaking new wine thats taking the music and festival circuit by storm.” An artistic gastronomic experience was curated in the private dining room held in the  “WOLFs Layer”. Chef Marcel Vigneron most known for his moment in the spotlight on the second season of Top Chef composed an artistic menu of handcrafted dishes that were all used as a backdrop to showcase the range of Electric Sky Wine(s) sampled.


Each wine is available in portable 4 bottle stack and don’t be fooled by the pop tops. Each varietal is hand selected from top quality grapes from wine growing regions from the Northern Coast in California to the Veneto region of Italy, all the way to the Languedoc Roussillon region of France (in the South of France, next to Provence). Quality and convenience rolled into one easy to drink vessel that is not breakable.


The wine is offered in convenient, single serve, stackable portions with four easy-to-sip varietals: French Rosé, Italian Pinot Grigio, California Moscato, and California Red Blend.  The wines popularity is growing to include all major music festivals across the country including “Governor’s Ball, Meadows, North Coast, Bonnaroo, SXSW, and many more, far outselling wines in traditional glass bottles.


“Music is such a seminal part of Electric Sky’s DNA,” says Daniel Sena, Head of Strategic Marketing at Interscope Records.  “In so many places where music is consumed, wine is also consumed. So, our goal was to create a premium wine that could complement the music lover’s on-the-go lifestyle.”

Interscope Geffen A&M is a part of Universal Music Group, the world’s largest music company.”


Daniel Sena, Head of Strategic Marketing at Interscope Records  joined us for the evening and took some time to explain the nuances of the product range and how its popularity has been growing organically with the various festival crowds and now they are ready to sell directly to consumers as a great “picnic” or outdoor outing wine perfect for the summer season thats already upon us. “To finally reach the LA market is really exciting,” Sena says.  “It’s where the label’s based, our artists live, and the music community is strongest.  We’ve been really strategic about making sure the product was right before expanding too quickly.”


Packaged in 4 single-serve, stackable, shatterproof, recyclable plastic glasses of wine, in just a year’s time Electric Sky has disrupted the traditional wine industry.  Electric Sky has seen record breaking sales at the biggest music festivals (Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, etc) as well as successful retail launches in Texas (H-E-B) and the Midwest (Meijer).  June of 2017 will see Electric Sky officially launching in Los Angeles, Intrescope’s home market.


The curated collaborative wine pairing dinner at Wolf allowed us to meet and greet with other tastemakers that we have met over the years and the beautifully decorated space and community dining table allowed us to capture the essence of the artistic plates, colorful wines and listen to some awesome 90’s/2000’s hip hop mixes playing on the restaurants HIFI sound-system. In addition to being a Hip dining destination the restaurant has a cool rustic HGTV “FIXER-UPPER” look meets contemporary vibe with cool mural art from Street Artist CRYPTIC located behind the barista providing an awesome backdrop for its elevated New American menu.


Now onto the Tasting menu:


Course 1



(Paired with the Pinot Grigio) This was a “Beet salad” like no other.  Complete with yuzu, berries, almond, goat cheese snow, nasturtium and liquid nitrogen beets smoked from the moment this “Jackson Pollock”inspired dish was placed in front of us.

Course 2

CHICKEN LIVER PATE (Paired with the Rosé)


olive oil jam, pickled rhubarb, red onion marmalade, lodge bread (local). You had me at chicken liver pate. Super soft, French technique and beautiful rustic local baguette and slowly simmered onion jam completed this dish.

Course 3

BRAISED BEEF CHEEK (Paired with the Red Blend)


with jerusalem artichoke, endive, tumeric peppercorn sauce. The beef was so tender that we wanted another plate.

Course 4

BLUEBERRY SHUFFLE (Paired with the Moscato) cherry froyo.


This sweet decadent bite was the perfect “icing on the cake” and a great conclusion for the evenings culinary adventures.
