LA doesn’t need an excuse to eat tacos or does it? Well that depends on who you talk to and if they are a die-hard “Taco Tuesday” fanatic. We recently visited Pink Taco in Century City to get the skinny on their version of “Taco Tuesday” and experience it’s authenticity for ourselves. Why wait for “Hump Day” to begin celebrating the approaching weekend when you have the excuse of tantalizing Tacos and chilled Margaritas available in your backyard on Tuesday nights. It doesn’t matter how experienced or novice you are when it comes to Taco Tuesday please be forewarned that when combined these Mexican specialties are the perfect prescription to get over the Monday Blues or that case of the Monday’s that just wont go away from the day before, so consumption in moderation is encouraged.

Graffiti murals, airbrushed Lowrider bicycles and car hoods, Latin folkloric imagery and Street style intermix with rustic and modern design elements at Pink Taco’s flagship LA location perched high above the Century City Mall. The hip atmosphere is complimented by the culinary direction of Pink Taco LA’s new Executive Chef Jose Aleman, formerly of BOA Steakhouse in Los Angeles who is now serving up a revamped traditional Mexican menu of fresh, locally grown produce and high quality ingredients found in Pink Taco’s signature dishes. Complimentary music on Tuesday nights on the patio are amplified from various LA DJ’s including a residency from DJ Stizzle.

Besides forward thinking Chef curated cuisine fresh market cocktails are also the Pink Taco specialty and no Taco Tuesday is ever complete without an ice cold beverage with a dosed up kick from the full bar.

Two styles of White and Red Sangria are available on the menu and both are made fresh daily. Support the Pink Taco “Tequila of the month club by sampling a shot or shots of Karma Tequila with your friends during the Month of June. When we visited shots of Justin Timberlake’s “Triple Distilled” 901 Silver Tequila from the Newton distillery in Jalisco, Mexico were being sampled on the patio.  When in doubt on what to drink cozy up to their version of a mixology Margarita, The Impala and let “The Traditional Mexican Cadillac” with Avion Anejo, Combier, fresh lime juice and agave nectar shake up your life and cool you down.

Fresh Chips, Pink Taco House Guacamole & Salsa Roja are always required accompaniments for a Taco Tuesday adventure and you can either order your tacos from the menu or participate in the taco Tuesday buffet. The choice is up to you! If menu ordering is your thing, we suggest the Baja Fish Mahi-Mahi Tacos for LA’s Pescatarians or the Traditional Yucatan Style Pink Tacos for the carnivores loaded with Chicken, Pinto Beans, Arbol Salsa, pickled pink onions and Avocado for that traditional authentic taco flavor. If you are an ambitious eater add on a side of the roasted Mexican Street Corn, Rice & Beans.

Pink Taco Los Angeles and Las Vegas are both no stranger to celebrities soaking up the vibes and some notable guests include Lana Del Ray, Steven Tyler, Jaime King, Fergie, Lucy Hale and Chris Brown just to name a few. LA now has a second location on the Sunset Strip and the Pink Taco experience goes till 2am. By this point, the cravings have set in and it’s time for some tacos. Regardless of the day of the week you can experience  a taste of “La Vida Loca” at both of LA’s  Pink Taco locations.  Taco Tuesday will be going on all summer long until Labor Day weekend so take the high road and make your reservations by phone or online before summer is long gone and get in on the Taco Tuesday feeding frenzy while the getting is good.
