“Shot’s Shots, Shots….., EVERYBODY…Shots“……Now that I got your attention, you can now read on and begin to feel a small “taste” of the club vibes that we experienced last-weekend at the {LOS ANGELES} 2nd annual launch party for the Camarena Tequila Taco Truck.
So while you continue reading please “Put your drinks up” and wave your hands like you just don’t care. And while you are into the groove, take a moment to think about how good it will be to savor the flavors of Camarena 100% Blue Agave Tequila(Silver & Reposado) at your next party or as a part of your next meal.
The Event:
The event was put on to kick of the 2nd year Summer launch of Familia Camarena’s Tequila Taco Truck in LA.
“AUTOBOTS…ROLL OUT”; Okay, well the truck is not quite a transformer, but Camarena Tequila is transforming peoples views on using Tequila as a cooking ingredient.
The entire Camarena team put together an all star lineup of food, drink, music and fun for a fortunate group of Angelino pleasure seekers on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
The Location:
The LA launch party took place at SmashBox Studios – Stage 4 in Hollywood. A photo studio, DJ’s, Taco Truck, Photo-booth, and a bar in each corner. What more could you ask for?
The Truck:
The Camarena Tequila truck is now roaming the streets of LA bringing a taste of Camarena Cuisine to fortunate Angelinos looking for something different that is literally priceless.
Freshly wrapped, rolling and serving the public is what the roaming restaurant does without charging a dime, so please support Camarena by picking up a bottle or two at the store for your next event as a thank you for feeding you after the club on those {LA}te nights.
Look for them on a street corner near you, but only for a limited time this Summer.
The Chef & Restaurant:
Behind the scenes, working on the truck was chef José Briceño of Rivera Restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles who created the menu for LA’s Camarena Truck utilizing tequila infused dishes to showcase contemporary Latin gastronomy while remaining true to the “Street Food movement” that our city is known for.
The Menu: “A Tequila Ma$h-up of sorts”
Chicken Taco
with Camarena Silver Tequila-Infused Red Cabbage and Jicama Slaw
Black bean Tostadito
with Camarena Reposado Tequila-Infused Pineapple Salsa and Cilantro
Elote Flan

Red and Yellow Pepper Soup

Entertainment:
The Mixmasters:
Several Djs provided a jam packed loungy soundtrack for Sunday’s event including Grammy Nominated artist Vikter Duplaix who ripped it up on the 1s & 2s.
“And the beat goes on…..”
Other guest Dj’s included from the Bahay House Sessions LP: Porchlite and Mark Faicol.
Keeping things all in the “HOUSE” was right in their neighborhood. Dropping beats is just another day at the office for them and this office came complete with 4 fully stocked Tequila bars and its own branded Taco Truck.
The Photobooth:
A photo booth complete with Mexican themed props made us feel like we were in Mexico and we even chanted a few verses of the soccer anthem “Olé, Olé, Olé……………… Olé..”
The Drinks:
“Camarena tequila is 100% agave, and comes in Silver and Reposado; it’s great in a cocktail and good enough for a sip.” and we enjoyed it every which way.
Reposado Paloma
Familia Camarena Reposado, Grapefruit juice, topped with seltzer(club Soda)
Tradicional Margarita
Familia Camarena Reposado, Lime juice, Orange liqueur garnished with Ice, Salt and lime
Tequila Sunrise
Familia Camarena Reposado, Orange juice, Grenadine, and topped with a lime
The Dessert:
Did somebody say pie? Yes, I saw pie in the corner of my eye, actually an Octopie. Emily Cofrancesco(owner and partner) from “I Heart Pies” in Toluca Lake was dishing out mini versions of Key-lime and Strawberry pies showcased their freshness, quality artisanship and gourmet flavors. Okay, I will admit that I had my dessert before my meal, but that’s what keeps it interesting.
