An Afternoon Celebration of the Noble Beast Benefiting Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), Sunday, August 5th, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Newport Dunes Resort
Laguna Beach, CA, July 10, 2012—Chef Amar Santana of broadwaybyamarsantana.com in Laguna Beach and Bobby Navarro of 100eats100days.com will be paving the way of culture and class with this inaugural pig-centric social.
Orange County’s best chefs and mixologists will offer taste variations of pig, accompanied by inspirational cocktails, when they celebrate the “blessings of the swine” and help those in the culinary industry achieve their dreams. This will be the first event of its kind in Orange County, combining culinary creativity with craft cocktails in the same forum. Those who attend will have the opportunities to savor variations of pig, to donate to the charity through raffles and a silent auction, to enjoy live music presented by the Nate Williams Band, to sip signature cocktails from the craft bartenders of Orange County, and to enjoy the stellar sights and sounds of the Newport Dunes Resort.
“A portion of the proceeds will be going to C-CAP,” says Chef Amar Santana. “C-CAP is a national, not-for-profit that provides scholarships, education, and career opportunities in the food and hospitality industry to at-risk high school students throughout the nation. I would never be where I am today without the support and guidance of C-CAP.”
Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) was founded over 20 years ago by Richard Grausman, renowned cookbook author, culinary educator, and recipient of the James Beard Award for Humanitarian Services and the President’s Service Award. C-CAP distributes over $3 million annually in culinary, post-secondary school scholarships.
