The Art Institutes Food Truck Tour Challenges Local Food Truck Favorites

Food Network-inspired battle will hit LA on Sept. 8 against India Jones Chow Truck

WHO:

The Art Institutes is on tour with its own “mobile restaurant” with talented culinary students from The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California –  Los Angeles, a campus of Argosy University, putting their skills to work as head chefs for a challenge.

Up for the heated matchup against the students is India Jones Chow Truck, which serves authentic Indian street food throughout Greater Los Angeles. Also, on-site for patrons to try will be The Fry Girl and Sky’s Gourmet Tacos who are offering sample size dishes.

Judging the competition will be the Lime Truck’s Jesse Brockman who was the winner from the last season of The Great Food Truck Race and a 2009 alumnus of The Art Institute of California – Orange County.

WHAT:

The Art Institutes (Ai) Food Truck Tour brings the excitement of Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race-inspired cooking competitions to communities in Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. In a playful but competitive “battle” Art Institutes culinary students will challenge local food truck favorites to create a dish that includes a mystery ingredient.

The public is invited to this event to watch the competitions live, purchase tasting size portions of diverse cuisine from additional food trucks, see who wins the challenge and take photos on-site with celebrity chefs, at no cost to attend.

WHEN:

The local cooking challenge will take place on September 8, 2012 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Media encouraged to attend at 2:00 p.m.
