Chef Eric Greenspan and his flagship restaurant, The Foundry in West Hollywood are synonymous for pushing the envelope when it comes to creating trendsetting culinary art with soulful flavors and personality to match. So it was no surprise that the talented Foundry team would embark on a special dinner pairing menu featuring exclusive high-end artisanal Mezcals from Mexico that just got greenlighted for import to the United States.

It takes a village effort to produce a mixology event here in Los Angeles and fortunately the talented veteran event producer Dan Silberstein from Drink Eat Play showcased his version the LA Cocktail Classic to a captive Downtown Los Angeles audience at the beautiful and historic Saint Vibiana Cathedral with over 200 liquor brands coupled with mixologists showcasing the best of the Farm to Glass movement that hit the mainstream cocktail world in 2011. Some of the evenings talent providing demonstrations included; Marcos Tello, Matt Biancaniello, Lindsay Nader, and Joe Swifka just to name a few. We have broken down the best of the best of artisan cocktail essentials for making over your liquor cabinet so that you can bring it up to date with current trends in time for summer.

Chef Jack Lee uses food to tell a story, to represent how his clients feel and to personify who they are through his experience of them. He takes these experiences and translates them onto the plate. A few years ago Jack went through jaw surgery where he lost his sense of taste. Jack was not going to go down without a fight and wasn’t going to let this get the best of him. It took him a year and a half to recover his sense of taste and retrain his palate. During his recovery he came up with the idea of his 6th tasting collection called “My True Colors” where he used food and colors to describe his thoughts and feelings through his toughest period after his surgery and his journey back to the culinary world.
